Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
2020 CONFERENCE CANCELED

Dear Attendees,
For the past several weeks, we have stayed in close communication with local, state, national and international public health and infectious disease authorities.  Obviously, we had hoped this crisis would abate, and we would be able to hold Trauma, Critical Care & Acute Care Surgery 2020, as well as Medical Disaster Response 2020, April 5-8, at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. Unfortunately, this has not been the case.  Travel bans and airline restrictions, among many other considerations that are far beyond our control, have forced us to make the very difficult decision to cancel the 53rd Trauma, Critical Care & Acute Care Surgery and the 12th Medical Disaster Response.  We believe this is the only responsible position, at this time.  We cannot risk jeopardizing you, the critical work force needed to ensure the well-being of your patients.

As of today, we will begin cancelling all registrations and issuing refunds, per our cancellation policy. You will receive an email notifying you that the refund is in process.  You do not need to email us requesting a cancellation. However, if you wish to roll your entire registration payment over to the 2021 meeting (April 12-14,2021), NOTIFY redstart@aol.com IMMEDIATELY.  Please also immediately cancel any hotel reservations you made for the conference.  Note that most airlines are offering reduced or waived fees for flight cancellations or changes.

This conference was a sell-out post 911, during the Gulf War, and has survived several other challenging obstacles in the past, so this decision was not made easily or lightly.  However, we know we are doing what is best for you, your hospitals and home institutions, and the patients who depend on you.  While we deeply regret that this national and international crisis has made this difficult step necessary, we are already looking forward to an even bigger and better 2021 educational event at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.

Stay safe, well, and strong as we meet the challenges presented to us in this uncharted territory.

Sincerely,
